Nominations are Open for the Inaugural CHDS Alumni Service Award


The Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS) Alumni Association is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the first annual CHDS Alumni Service Award.  The award will be given annually at the CHDS Alumni APEX Conference in Monterey. 

The award recognizes CHDS alumni who have shown exemplary contributions and initiative through leadership, innovation, and drive in the application of their CHDS education to the homeland security enterprise.

Nominee Eligibility

  • Must be an alumnus of a CHDS program who successfully completed all program requirements.

  • Be currently engaged in a homeland security/public safety enterprise (public, private or nonprofit sector) as an employee or volunteer.

Nomination Process

The nominator should submit an online Nomination Form and a description (1000 word limit) of how the nominee has impacted the homeland security enterprise.  Self-nominations will not be accepted.

The submission deadline is September 30, 2021. The award winner will be announced in the beginning of 2022 and the award will be presented at the CHDS Alumni APEX Conference in February. Please contact Greg Mammana at if you have questions.
